PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY:

This competition is open only to all participants over the legal age as mandated by each participant’s local country and state regulations and excludes employees of Boston Media House and Vuma 103FM (the ‘Promoters’) or its subsidiaries and excludes anyone who is connected with the administration of this promotion.

 

PRIZES:

There is a total value of R150 000 worth of Boston Media House bursaries available.  

 

WINNERS:

Winners will be selected based on minimum criteria per each course offered.

Only 1 winner per diploma

The bursaries are for the full duration of the qualification/course.

The learner will need to make arrangements for transport and accommodation but the qualification/course is covered.

This includes textbooks but not items such as stationery and a laptop for example.

Diploma in Media Practices

 

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC), with English as one of the subjects passed and with endorsement for admission to Diploma study;

or

  • National Certificate (Vocational) (NC(V)), with English as one of the subjects passed and with endorsement for admission to Diploma study; or
  • Prior to 2009, Senior Certificate with English as one of the subjects passed.

 

Alternative Entry Requirements:

A number of higher education qualifications may meet the requirements for admission into the diploma:

  • Higher Certificate, NQF (HEQSF) Level 5, minimum Credits 120;

or

  • Advanced Certificate, NQF (HEQSF) Level 6, minimum Credits 120;

  • Grade 11 Certificate; or National Certificate: (Vocational) L3; or equivalent qualification.
  • No previous knowledge of music or experience with any musical instrument required.

or

  • Grade 10 Certificate; or National Certificate: (Vocational) L2; or equivalent qualification.
  • Some previous knowledge of music or experience with any musical instrument is required.

Short Courses

 

  • Radio Production
  • Radio Presenting and Video Editing Currently OPEN entry but we encourage you to have studying up to Grade 12 at least

 

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the SLP students will receive from Boston a non- credential-document for a Short Learning Programme: Radio Production.

 

WINNER VERIFICATION:

The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any Participant and may require such information as it considers reasonably necessary for the purpose of verifying the eligibility of a Participant. Prizes may be withheld, until the Promoter is reasonably satisfied with the eligibility verification.

 

PRIZE SUBSTITUTION:

The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value in the event of unavailability due to circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control.
