Police in the province say they are investigating a case of hijacking in Inanda, north of Durban.

This after a driver of the vehicle picked up his client who wanted to go to Avoca Hills, at Durban Station.

Whilst they were traveling to their destination, it is alleged that the client produced a firearm and threatened him to drive towards Inanda.

At Inanda he was then forced into the boot of his vehicle and the suspect drove away, but was able to free himself while the vehicle was moving.

Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says the 21-year-year old suspect was arrested, and was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
